Back Beach Beats is a private, fully catered drum teaching studio in St Andrews Beach on the Mornington Peninsula of Victoria that offers drum lessons for all levels and specialises in preparing students for VCE drum kit exams. Back Beach Beats also offers holiday programs for individuals/groups and caters for times when travelling to the studio isn't an option by way of online lessons using Zoom, Skype or FaceTime. At Back Beach Beats drum lessons are given by Jim Nash. Jim is fully qualified by the Victorian Institute of Teaching and this insures you not only a certified teacher but the assurance that all police and working with children checks are in place.

Jim Nash has been at the forefront of the music entertainment industry since his early years as a driving force playing drums behind many performers and for over ten years he was the backbone for Australia's most prestigious cover band Captain Spalding. The Captain Spalding Band was an integral part of Jim's development consistently performing up to 300 shows per year that comprised of many lengthy residencies and interstate/international shows.

As a past student of many of Australia's leading and influential drummers, including Frank Corniola, Darryn Farrugia, David Jones, Ron Copper and Ron Sandilands, Jim developed a strong sense of the fundamentals of drum-kit studies and in 1994 was runner-up in 'Australia's Best Up & Coming Drummer Competition' which led to endorsements from major drum companies Sabian, Premier, Vader and Evans. Since 1989 Jim has operated A To Z Drum Tuition, teaching through numerous Melbourne schools. 

'Welcome To The Numb' is a three piece original melodic rock band which is a focal point of Jim's career. WTTN, who originate out of Melbourne is a medium for expressing Jim's passion for not only his drumming and vocal skills but also as a songwriter and producer. WTTN had some success in 2012 with the single In This Memory going to #1 on iHeart Radio America and their Australian release of Sister being played nationally on Triple M.

Jim was also Drummer/Vocalist for renowned Melbourne cover band Adam 12 and is currently Drummer/Backing Vocalist with Cool Change, The Little River Band Story.
